The protagonist of the story met with the cyclist at a red light, where they exchanged glances. When the signal turned green, both continued to stare down one another until the protagonist jumped in front of his bike. The cyclist swerved his bike, only to collide with the protagonist's head. While the protagonist was knocked out, he saw a vision of a large, white horse. It was named "Tragic" and had the number "1" on its forehead. The horse backed away from him rapidly as it faded away into what seemed to be black ink. As the protagonist awoke, he found himself lying on the ground with both of his hands covering his face. The cyclist was helped up by several pedestrians around him, who were surprised that he suffered no visible wounds from the collision. The cyclist then asked for some paper towels to wipe off any blood that had gotten on him during the collision. The protagonist then took a closer look at his hands to find a deep cut on his right hand. He immediately called the police, but he had no idea what they would do to him. Luckily, they arrived minutes later and escorted him into an ambulance as he left his phone on the ground. A group of men in white coats stepped into the ambulance as well as two policemen from local precinct. They loaded up the protagonist and transported him to a local hospital where he was treated for several injuries from the collision. Afterwards, they arrested the cyclist and sent him on his way, without any charges whatsoever. However, after two weeks of recovery, he had not regained consciousness and there was no change in his condition since then. The doctors decided to take him off of life support, when the protagonist woke up again. He immediately questioned the doctors about what had happened when he was in his coma. One of the doctors told him that he had no recollection of asking about it. He then watched a video footage covering all of the events described above, which was recorded by a bystander who was across the street from where they collided. The protagonist then watched this video footage for almost an hour, before asking what he had done to warrant arrest. The doctor replied to him by saying "You did absolutely nothing wrong." The protagonist had recently moved into a new neighborhood and had befriended a young woman named Ashley. He noticed that she was always walking to and from her place of employment during the day while he was home alone. When he asked her about it, she had responded by saying that she needed to be more responsible for her actions because of what happened with her family. It seemed to him that she did not really care about him or his concerns about her actions since she did not stop walking despite his request to walk with him at night.
